The Valley Foundation was founded
in 1984 and is headquartered in Los
Gatos, California. The Foundation
seeks to improve health care and
medical services for lower income
households within Santa Clara
County, and is eager to give funds
that act as a catalyst for additional
support from other agencies
and individuals.

Established as a nonprofit in 1984, from the sale of The Community
Hospital of Los Gatos and Saratoga, Inc., the highest priority of The Valley
Foundation is to provide targeted funding for qualified charitable
organizations serving the health care needs of lower income households in Santa Clara County.

The Foundation serves many broader purposes as well. In this capacity we welcome proposals from organizations which serve our community in the areas of medical research, higher education, social services, programs for youth, aid to senior citizens and the arts. In every case, the Board of
Directors considers grant requests in light of current county needs.

FACTS

  • The Foundation considers medical-related and social services as priorities for its support.
  • The funds must be used to meet needs arising within Santa Clara County.
  • The grants often focus on the health needs of low-income families, with more than half of the total grant monies dedicated to this purpose.
  • The Foundation grants start-up funding for specific projects. Foundation support may thus pave the way for future financial contributions from other public and private sources.
