The Valley Foundation was founded
in 1984 and is headquartered in Los
Gatos, California. The Foundation
seeks to improve health care and
medical services for lower income
households within Santa Clara
County, and is eager to give funds
that act as a catalyst for additional
support from other agencies
and individuals.

The Valley Foundation focuses its granting activity in Santa Clara County. Grants for social services, arts and community-benefit are accepted; and requests for grants that fund services addressing health of the Santa Clara County residents are prioritized.

GRANT REQUIREMENTS

  • Requested by qualified, 501(c)(3) charitable organizations
  • All grant-funds used within Santa Clara County
  • Organizations previously funded by The Foundation must wait 12 months to apply for another grant
  • Not for individuals or political or religious organizations

GRANT GUIDELINES

  • Grant supports work on medical-related efforts, the arts, social services and general community ventures
  • General request size is from $10,000 - $100,000, but larger requests are considered

GRANT PREFERENCES

  • Challenge or catalyst grants that function to secure additional funding
  • Short-term, non-multiple-year requests
  • Avoid providing more than one-fourth of an organization’s total budget for a 12-month period
